The Number One Citizen of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday signed the petroleum university bill. Since the announcement of the bill there has been a sense of celebration within the fupre community, but it still raises some questions. According to Vanguard News , the bill paves the way for the establishment of the federal university of petroleum resources, effurun. Fupre Centre for Safety Education is the result of the collaboration between the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE) and the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON) as stated in the ISPON Act 2014 Section 3(h) states that the Institute shall have power to affiliate with any university or other tertiary institutions for the purpose of offering higher degree programmes. The Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun hereby invites all candidates who scored 180 and above and applied for admission into the University as first choice in the 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) to apply for the Post UTME Screening Exercise. Fupre Centre For Maritime and Offshore is studies is as a result of collaboration between the Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun and Maritime/Offshore Industries. The goal of the centre is to maritime and offshore related courses with national and international recognition. The Federal University of Petroleum Resources partners with relevant and respected maritime, offshore and onshore contracting firms supplying a range of maritime based services to the Oil and Gas Industry.
