The Number One Citizen of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday signed the petroleum university bill. Since the announcement of the bill there has been a sense of celebration within the fupre community, but it still raises some questions. According to Vanguard News , the bill paves the way for the establishment of the federal university of petroleum resources, effurun. QUESTIONS - What does it mean to ESTABLISH FUPRE ? - Prior to the signing of this bill, did the Federal Government regard Fupre as a federal institution ? - What do you think are the implications of this bill ? Fupre Centre for Safety Education is the result of the collaboration between the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE) and the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON) as stated in the ISPON Act 2014 Section 3(h) states that the Institute shall have power to affiliate with any university or other tertiary institutions for the purpose of offering higher degree programmes. The centre presently offers Diploma, Postgraduates Diploma (PGD) programmes and Certificate courses in Health, Environment, Safety & Security Training in Education with a view to providing highly Industry-driven Safety Professionals for the Oil and Gas Industry and other relevant disciplines. Fupre post UTME screening form 2017 is out. The Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun hereby invites all candidates who scored 180 and above and applied for admission into the University as first choice in the 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) to apply for the Post UTME Screening Exercise. Registration for the screening will commence from Wednesday, 30th  August, 2017. The date for the Post UTME Screening exercise is Wednesday 20th  September 2017, time is 8AM.
