President Buhari Signs Petroleum University Bill

The Number One Citizen of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday signed the petroleum university bill. Since the announcement of the bill there has been a sense of celebration within the fupre community, but it still raises some questions. According to Vanguard News , the bill paves the way for the establishment of the federal university of petroleum resources, effurun. Fupre Centre For Safety Education

Fupre Centre for Safety Education is the result of the collaboration between the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE) and the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON) as stated in the ISPON Act 2014 Section 3(h) states that the Institute shall have power to affiliate with any university or other tertiary institutions for the purpose of offering higher degree programmes. The centre presently offers Diploma, Postgraduates Diploma (PGD) programmes and Certificate courses in Health, Environment, Safety & Security Training in Education with a view to providing highly Industry-driven Safety Professionals for the Oil and Gas Industry and other relevant disciplines.
